Ortho-Millennialism: Bringing Order to End-Time Chaos, by Rev. Gerald Haug

Have you struggled with nagging questions about the end times? Have false end-time predictions left you wary and wondering? Do you want to know what your Bible really says about this? Fact #1: Twenty-five percent of the New Testament references the end times. Fact #2: Eschatology, after Salvation, is the second most frequently mentioned doctrine of the New Testament. Fact #3: The doctrines of salvation and eschatology are linked together in God's eternal plan for mankind. Consequently, understanding the end times is critical to understanding the New Testament!

Ortho-Millennialism: Bringing Order to End-Time Chaos offers the key to unlocking these mysteries. By building on the foundation of what the first century church believed and learning how to apply this knowledge to the present, the book provides a historical, theologically rich, and yet practical look at the end times.

This is the first and only book to provide a complete framework for understanding the end times. This professionally edited book, two years in the making, will clear up the confusion surrounding this important topic. Built upon a solid foundation of Scripture as opposed to errant speculation, this book addresses every major topic concerning the end times, including:

  • Christ’s Parousia, or the Return of Christ
  • Daniel's 70th week
  • The Tribulation
  • The Rapture
  • The Antichrist
  • Heaven and Hell
  • The Resurrection of the Dead
  • The Millennium
  • The New Heaven and New Earth
  • The Establishment of God’s Kingdom
After reading this book your faith in God and your knowledge of the Bible will increase dramatically. You will learn principles for interpreting Scripture and apply them to the study of the apocalyptic sections of Daniel, the book of Revelation, and several other New Testament passages. This book will challenge you in new and exciting ways, laying a foundation for a stronger, richer, and more powerful faith!

You will be empowered by TRUTH!
By Chen Liao
This book is definitely a MUST HAVE for anyone wanting to understand end-times biblical doctrine!!This book does an excellent job bringing irrefutable Biblical clarity to the end times. You will be surprised as you read along that what you've learned in middle school history was the real fulfillment of the prophesies! And it make so much sense! I have seen several perspectives in the past on end-time doctrines, but was always confused. This book cleared up all my confusion. And more importantly, because now I understand the book of Revelation, as is promised in Rev 1:3, I am so blessed with clarity and faith now which I never imagined!

I strongly recommend this book to those who are serious about knowing the truth, so I give it a five star rating. You will be blessed by the truth!

How come nobody else is teaching this? It makes so much sense!
By Gary Mull
I remember years ago being confused when I read the New Testament references to Old Testament prophecies about Jesus. It seemed like they were taking verses way out of context and applying them to Christ. Yet I knew they had to be right, because this was Jesus himself quoting the O.T. verses, plus all the guys who spent so much time with Him, both in His earthly body and in His resurrected body. I concluded that I would have probably missed it, too, unless Jesus or His Spirit helped me understand.

My next question was, "What are we missing today?" I've been taught that the Jews of Jesus' day were looking for a military and political leader, and that sure isn't what Jesus had in mind. I've also been taught that we're now waiting for some horrendous days for unbelievers that will include a rapture of the saints. If the Jews totally misread the prophecies about their Messiah, is it possible that we're misreading the prophecies about His return?

But I just couldn't make sense of it all.

Until now.

Gerald provides careful, Spirit-led research. I've read his book 4 times and continue to learn from it. I've been a Christian for 38 years, and I read 30 to 40 books a year, but I'd say 85% of what Gerald says was brand new to me.

Now, "brand new" doesn't always equal "true." Martin Luther brought new ideas, and they were spot on. Joseph Smith, Mary Baker Eddy, and Charles Taze Russell offered new ideas, but they were wildly and dangerously off. What about Gerald's ideas? They're definitely unconventional. Do they line up with scripture, or is he one more in a stream of off-kilter would-be religious leaders?

I found a LOT to think about, and then rethink some more, as I read Ortho-Millennialism. I found Gerald's explanations were at first totally foreign, then plausible, then downright exciting. I'd always thought that Revelation didn't make a difference in how I live my life. Now I have an understanding of Revelation that has changed how I read the entire Bible and how I respond to current events. Wow, didn't see that coming.

Be prepared for surprises. Unless you've studied all end-times ideas written over the past 2,000 years, there's a good chance your theology will be rocked by Ortho-Millennialism. You probably have ideas and expectations influenced by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins' Left Behind books. I sure did. But now I see that my western mind was applying literal interpretations where they didn't belong.

For example, there's the reference to every eye seeing Jesus returning with the clouds. I figured it'd be on CNN so we could watch from anywhere in the world as Jesus rode a white horse through the sky, landing somewhere and doing great things. But did you know the phrase "coming with the clouds" occurs in the Old Testament? John didn't make up this word picture. He borrowed it from familiar Jewish writing, and it never meant that a literal being would ride in on a literal, visible group of clouds. His initial audience understood him, while my western mind missed it entirely.

If you are baffled by Revelation or eschatology in general, or are afraid that you may miss the rapture or suffer greatly before it happens, or if you believe that there's more to the power and authority that the Church is supposed to wield, Ortho-Millennialism is well worth the time you'll invest in studying it. It may be difficult to understand and agree with all of it, but it's compelling, well-written, and has the potential to awaken you to the reality of the Kingdom of which many Christians are, at the moment, confused, fearful, and weak participants.

This is right on track
By RICK GARDNER
I haven't finished the entire book yet but I like what I'm reading. Van Impe, Lindsey, and Lahaye had me totally confused by revising their books every 10 years when their predictions failed. Read the book and you will see why. Isarel has been a nation for over 60 years and nothing has happened. What happen to the 40 year generation. Nothing happened in '74, '78, 84, 88, 2000 as they all predicted. Now you can know why. Jesus established his kingdom and has reigned over it since 70 AD. Wake up and study the truth for yourself. Its so simple. I am looking forward to eternity with Jesus when its time for me to leave this eternal wicked earth. Praise God!
