In this companion book to the Earth Chronicles series, Zecharia Sitchin takes the tale of Man and gods a major step farther. Having shown that humanity did not transit from hominids to Homo sapeins unaided and that the Anunnaki, in need of workers, jumped the gun on evolution through genetic engineering, Sitchin now tackles the delicate issue of human-divine contacts and probes the age-old question of the awkward relationship between humanity and its creator(s).

The book encompasses biblical tales of Enoch, who was taken to the celestial abode; the theophany at Mount Sinai; Sumerian tales of Adapa, who was taken to another planet; and Egyptian pyramid texts of heavenly flights. Sitchin cites instances of oracular dreams and three-dimensional visions as some of the means whereby Man was given access to extraterrestrial secret knowledge. He furthermore suggests that the continued interaction between Anunnaki and Earthlings can explain today's UFO phenomena.

Paraphrase of his other Books

If you have read any of The Earth Chronicles, then there is no need to purchase this book, unless you are looking to complete your collection. Not much (if any) new information is presented here, it contains basically excerpts from Sitchin's other works. To the beginner it may seem new and exciting, but I still wouldn't recommend this book even if you have never read any of the others, buy yourself a copy of the 12th Planet instead.

Great contribution to the series--stunning ending!

This contribution to Sitchin's Earth Chronicles series would stand on its own as one of his most interesting books. But Sitchin really buries the lead in this book. The last chapter is called an endpaper, and is the most stunning of chapter of any of his books.

Without giving away the ending, Sitchin goes through the entire pantheon of ancient astronaut "gods" we've come to know through him and shows how the Yahway of the Old Testament isn't any of these figures. His unexpected conclusion is mind-boggling and really changes the meaning of all of his previous books. I don't know why this wasn't the thesis of one of his books, and is instead included as a footnote to this book.

Very factual. Good Read

I have read a lot of Sitchins books and this one is one of the best reads. It does a lot on comparisons to the writings in the Bible to other writings of other counties and beliefs. The section about the building of the arc and how he was able to get a pair of all animals on it is very interesting. Also of why Noah was selected to survive was interesting.

She tells of hunger, forced labour, and physical beatings, often with a leather strap, and also of the demand for conformity in a culturally alien institution where children were confined and denigrated for failure to be White and Roman Catholic.

Like Native children forced by law to attend schools across Canada and the United States, Sellars and other students of St. Joseph’s Mission were allowed home only for two months in the summer and for two weeks at Christmas. The rest of the year they lived, worked, and studied at the school. St. Joseph’s Mission is the site of the controversial and well-publicized sex-related offences of Bishop Hubert O’Connor, which took place during Sellars’s student days, between 1962 and 1967, when O’Connor was the school principal. After the school’s closure, those who had been forced to attend came from surrounding reserves and smashed windows, tore doors and cabinets from the wall, and broke anything that could be broken. Overnight their anger turned a site of shameful memory into a pile of rubble.

In this frank and poignant memoir, Sellars breaks her silence about the institution’s lasting effects, and eloquently articulates her own path to healing.

A Tale of Courage

"They Called Me Number One" by Bev Sellars is far more than a story of the residential school experience. It is the story of a courageous child and woman who survived by clinging to the pieces of her life that were kind and good. Her wonderful Gran who taught her compassion and even a few caring words from a dormitory supervisor. She held to these large and small pieces of flotsam in order to maintain the courage to survive the beatings and ridicule that were the daily bread of the unholy alliance between the Catholic Church and the Canadian government.

Sellars does not spare the people and the system that abused her, and generations of her family, but she also remembers those who threw a life ring. For all survivors she has written a self-help book equal to any that she reports reading in her adult years. When people ask, "What do the First Nations of Canada want?" give them this book. I know that I will.

Tragedy & Triumph

Chief Sellars spends the first half of this book describing the horrors visited upon her and 3 generations of her people and family by the Indian residential system. The second describes the struggle she went through to overcome the trauma and grow into a leader of and passionate spokeswoman for her people. I can only imagine the relived pain this book cost Chief Sellars, but I thank her for bearing it.

Part of the book's power is the clear, lucid but passionate language in which the story is told. Others have told the big picture story of history's largest genocide, but Chief Sellars puts a face and place to it. A must read.

Well written. Clear and honest. I really got a sense of her life as a child, as a teen, as an adult. Definitely a book that needs to be required reading in junior/high school for all students.

About the Author
Joudie Kalla has been working as a chef for over 16 years. She trained at London s prestigious Leith's School of Food and Wine and has worked at restaurants such as Pengelley's, Daphne s and Papillon. She has been running her own private catering company for over seven years and holds regular supper clubs. She also ran a hugely popular deli, Baity Kitchen, for three years and hosted Palestinian-themed dinners for Jamie Oliver's Fifteen charity.

Great cookbook, nice pictures, very authentic

Great cookbook, bought it for my mom for her birthday. We are Palestinian and she is already an excellent cook, which can be attributed to years pouring over Sahtein, the only cookbook previously allowed in our house.

This one is exceptional because of the pictures, the recipes are also simple to follow. The spice making guide at the begginning is also great, I never saw the directions for making Baharat before.

The ingredients are readily available in US markets and easily combined to make meals Mediterranean style meal planning both nutritious and delicious. An enjoyable read, feast for the eye and an inspiration for novice as well as seasoned cooks.

Seema Shekhawat is senior research fellow at the Peace and Conflict Studies Centre, Kathmandu, Nepal. She worked at the University of Mumbai and University of Jammu, India as a research faculty member. Her publications include Conflict and Displacement in Jammu and Kashmir: The Gender Dimension (2006) and Contested Border and Division of Families in Kashmir: Contextualizing the Ordeal of the Kargil Women (2009). I got this book for a class at school. It's great for telling you how to do things correctly in the office. Even if you have worked in the field for years, you will love this book. If you are new to the secretarial field, you will surely love this book. It's thorough and was very good as a textbook.

Good book and GREAT value!!

Good book. I bought this book because I am taking a course in Medical Administrative and this book was required for that course. Very well laid out and good topics to help in the Administrative side of business. Also, GREAT value on the price. My college bookstore wanted twice the amount you were selling it for, so I was able to save some financial aid money for other courses. Will recommend the Amazon Textbook store for buying college books at a GREAT value!
