Excellent! Very readable and it organizes the material in a very thoughtul and relevant manner. This is not so much a detailed historical reference but it discusses medical advancements in terms of their social significance at their respective times

This book hits many of the high points of medical history, and also brings in some underexplored perspectives, like the struggles of women in medicine. Also very readable.
